The project RELflex (Renewable Energy and Load Flexibility in Industry) has been started. On 04-05 February 2019 the project partners, representatives of funding agencies and invited guests met in Magdeburg, Germany to Kick-off the RELflex. In the open public part of the meeting, the overall project aims and perspective were presented and discussed. This event has been honored with the cooperation assignment between Fraunhofer IFF and Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences.
The second part of the project consortium meeting concerned the presentation of project structure, working packages, their tasks, as well as action plan and expected results. The concepts of practical implementation and demonstration of the flexibility function in production at a furniture factory in Magdeburg in Germany and in the reliable supply of hotel facilities in Podhale in Poland have been presented. The benefits of REflex’s planned solutions for businesses, SMEs, distribution system operators and end customers have been discussed. Project management regarding control and reporting to the funding agency has been provided.
On the second day, the laboratories of the Fraunhofer IFF Institute were presented, including the energy control center, virtual reality room, battery storage and electro-mobility infrastructure. center. Then the visit of the Arte Moebel factory where the practical part of the project will be carried out in order to demonstrate new solutions for flexibility in SME production processes took place.
The meeting ended with a farewell of participants motivated to implement this innovative project.
